Vinay Dhurve, a 6-year-old boy from Ganesh Nagar slum area, Bhopal, is a Class 3 (Abhyuday) student at Government School, Ganesh Nagar. He holds a special place at Umang Academy as its first enrolled student. Coming from a financially struggling background, his father works as a construction laborer, and his mother is a household helper. He has three elder sisters, all of whom also study at Umang Academy.
Being the youngest child, he was pampered and preferred playing over studying.
His irregular school attendance impacted his learning, especially when his family temporarily shifted to another location.
Lack of seriousness towards studies, as he was used to staying at home and was easily distracted.
To ensure Vinay’s consistent learning, Umang Academy’s teachers and social coordinators worked closely with his family:
✔️ Regular home visits were conducted to encourage him to attend school daily.
✔️ Frequent discussions with his mother and sisters helped them understand the importance of his education.
✔️ A structured learning environment was provided, making school more engaging for him.
✅ Regular attendance—he now comes to school daily and enjoys learning.
✅ Increased interest in studies and extracurricular activities.
✅ Family engagement—his sisters have become more cooperative with teachers and have also developed an interest in studies.
✅ Creativity boost—his elder sister excels in art and craft, showcasing her talent.
