Komal Meena, a 7-year-old girl from Ganesh Nagar slum area, Bhopal, is a student of Class 3 (Ankur) at a government school. She comes from a humble background—her father works in a hotel, and her mother is a housemaid. Education was never a priority in her family, but when Umang Academy started, she, along with her two siblings, enrolled right from the beginning.
When Komal first joined Umang Academy, she faced severe stammering issues and struggled with communication. She was inattentive in class, hesitant to interact, and lacked confidence, making it difficult for her to participate in any classroom activities.
Recognizing her difficulties, Umang Academy’s teachers adopted a unique approach to help her gain confidence:
✔️ Instead of focusing on writing, we prioritized her speaking skills to generate interest in learning.
✔️ Special attention was given to build her self-confidence through interactive activities.
✔️ Learning was made fun and engaging, using playful methods to help her overcome her hesitation.
With consistent support and encouragement, Komal gradually started showing remarkable progress. Today, she is a confident and expressive child who actively participates in academics and extracurricular activities. Her transformation is a testament to the fact that with the right guidance and a nurturing environment, every child can overcome their challenges and thrive.
